Hello.

I am an architect and architectural and project photographer living in Seattle, Washington, USA. I have been photographing on the Duwamish watersheds since 2020. I seek moments along the river’s current and long-lost course that connect its present, developed conditions to its complex, transfigured history.

My photography carries the imprint of 25 years as a practicing architect. I am interested in the environments that we construct for ourselves and how time imprints and alters the relationships between us and the built world. The visual evidence of the passage of time influences the merging of my passions for architecture and photography. I make photographs that engage buildings and topographies as inhabited, experiential settings within the landscape.

This ongoing project dissecting the infrastructural history of Seattle's River is a direct result of these interests, as well as an engagement of childhood memories of years spent on the industrialized rivers of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
